About Brow shaping at Azizam
A good brow shape is the quietest kind of beauty work. Done well, no one should notice the shape itself. They should notice that you look well-rested, balanced and put-together, and that the eye area reads clearer than it did before. Brow shaping at Azizam always begins with a consultation, because the right shape for your face cannot be decided by anyone except the technician sitting with you, looking at how your brows actually grow.
Every face is slightly asymmetrical, and every brow pair too. One side sits a little higher. The tail grows sparser. The arch falls in a different place on the left than on the right. A skilled shaping session works with all of this, rather than forcing both brows to mirror one another. The aim is balance, not symmetry. A brow that looks considered, not carved.
We offer three techniques. Waxing for speed and a clean line on most skin types. Threading for precision, particularly around the inner corner and tail. Tweezing for final finishing touches and for clients with skin that reacts to wax. Your technician will choose the right approach for your skin, your hair density and your preferences. You can request a specific technique if you have one, and we will work with you.
The appointment runs around 30 minutes. We start by mapping the brow with a brow pencil and a thread, using classical proportions as a reference but adjusting to your face. Nothing is removed until you have seen the mapping and approved the plan. This matters. Brow hair grows back slowly, particularly in adulthood, and a shape you regret can take weeks to recover. We want you fully in agreement before any hair comes out.
Once shaped, we clean the area, apply a calming serum, and brush the brows into their best direction. Most clients leave with no visible redness, though if your skin is sensitive you may see a little flushing that settles within an hour. We will never shape you the day of an event without a buffer, and we will suggest you book the session one to two days ahead for the best finish.
Regular maintenance is where the real difference shows. We recommend coming in every three to four weeks. Between appointments, light tweezing at home is fine for stray hairs, but avoid any major tidying yourself. It is the fastest way to drift the shape. We keep detailed notes on every client's preferred shape so the result is consistent across visits, even if you see a different technician occasionally.
Aftercare is minimal. Avoid heat, steam and heavy exercise for 12 hours. Avoid any acid-based skincare on the brow area for 24 hours. Use a gentle cleanser on the skin that day. That is genuinely everything.
A brow shape suits every woman, at every age. The techniques and the finish simply adapt to what would look best on you. If your brows are sparse or patchy, we will shape very lightly and may suggest pairing with henna or lamination.
Brow shaping FAQs
How often should I have my brows shaped?
Every three to four weeks keeps the shape consistent. In between, light tweezing at home is fine, but avoid major tidying yourself so the shape does not drift.
How long does brow tint last?
Around three weeks on the skin and up to six on the hair, depending on how often you exfoliate or use active skincare around the brow area.
What is brow lamination?
A gentle treatment that sets the brow hairs into a brushed-up, more defined shape. The result lasts around six weeks and works especially well for unruly or sparse brows.
Can I have brows shaped while pregnant?
Waxing, threading, and tweezing are safe. Tints and henna are a personal choice, so we always pause chemical services in the first trimester unless you would like to proceed.
Will shaping my brows make them grow back thicker or thinner?
Shaping itself does not change how your brows grow. Consistent, considered shaping encourages the healthy hairs to grow in and reduces strays over time. Aggressive, uneven shaping over many years can slow regrowth in certain areas, which is exactly what careful, light work avoids.
What is the difference between brow tint and brow henna?
Tint colours the hair and lightly stains the skin beneath, fading in two to three weeks on the skin and four to six weeks on the hair. Henna stains both more deeply, so the effect is fuller and reads particularly well for sparse or uneven brows. Henna lasts around two weeks on the skin and up to six on the hair.
Can brow hair that has not grown for years come back?
Sometimes, and sometimes not. It depends on whether the follicle is still active or fully closed. We will assess honestly during your consultation. A brow serum used nightly for three months is often the right first step, and pairing with lamination or henna can give visual fullness while regrowth is in progress.
How long should I let my brows grow before my first appointment?
Two to three weeks of growing-out gives your technician enough to work with. If you have been tidying strays yourself, stop for about a week before the appointment. That lets us see the full growth pattern and design a shape that will behave well between visits.
“My brows have never looked better. Considered, quiet work. No drama, just exactly what I wanted. The team knows what they are doing.”
