About Cleansing facial at Azizam
A deep cleanse facial is our reset treatment. It is built for skin that feels congested, has visible breakouts or trapped buildup, or simply feels in need of a thorough clean. If you have been travelling, sleeping in makeup, or through a particularly stressful stretch, your skin may be telling you it is time for this appointment.
The word 'deep' can imply aggressive. It is the opposite. The facialist's skill with this treatment is in reading exactly how far the skin can be taken without damaging the barrier. Over-extracted, over-scrubbed skin looks worse after the appointment than before. Well-judged deep cleansing leaves the skin visibly clearer, calmer, and with a smoother texture you can feel with your fingertips.
The appointment runs 75 minutes. We start with a thorough consultation, particularly around the nature of your congestion. Closed comedones, active breakouts, blackheads in the T-zone and skin that feels rough to the touch all respond to slightly different techniques, and the treatment is built around what your skin actually needs.
The first step is a double cleanse with a balm and an oil-dissolving gel to shift makeup, sebum and SPF. Warm steam then softens the skin and opens the surface for the exfoliation step, which uses a combination of enzyme and acid depending on skin type. Once the skin is prepared, we carry out careful extractions. Only where we can do so cleanly and only on comedones that are ready. We never force a blemish. The consequences of forcing are rebound inflammation and post-inflammatory pigmentation, both of which are worse than the original breakout.
After extractions, we apply a calming and antibacterial mask to reduce redness and protect the skin as it settles. A lightweight serum, moisturiser and SPF finish the appointment. Many clients leave with slightly pink skin in the extraction areas, which usually settles within a few hours.
Deep cleanse facials are particularly suited to clients whose skin is congested rather than truly acne-prone. If you have persistent, inflammatory acne, we may recommend a different approach involving LED and a gentler routine, because aggressive extraction can worsen inflammatory acne. Our facialists will assess this honestly during consultation and recommend the best route.
Results are visible immediately and improve further over the next few days. The skin looks clearer, feels smoother, and holds makeup better. Congestion that had been building under the surface is visibly reduced.
Aftercare is important. Avoid exercise, heat and heavy sweating for 12 hours. Avoid active skincare (retinoids, acids, vitamin C) for 48 hours. Do not pick at any residual spots, and expect some skin to surface over the following week as the clearing work continues. Wear SPF daily. Drink water.
Most clients benefit from a deep cleanse facial every six to eight weeks alongside a regular signature or hydrating facial in between. Over time, the skin becomes significantly clearer, and the need for deep cleansing reduces because the underlying congestion has been resolved.
Cleansing facial FAQs
How often should I have a facial?
Every four to six weeks is ideal for most skin types. If you are working through a specific concern like pigmentation or breakouts we may suggest a shorter course, then ease back to monthly maintenance.
What should I do before a facial?
Avoid strong actives like retinoids and acids for a few days beforehand, and come with clean, makeup-free skin if possible. Drink water. Arrive a few minutes early so you can settle in properly.
Can I have a facial before an event?
Yes, but give the skin at least two days to settle, especially if you have chosen something with extractions. For an event the same day, ask us about our express glow facial.
Are facials suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes. The products and steps are adjusted to how your skin responds on the day. We never push through a treatment if the skin is telling us to ease off.
Which facial should I book if I have never had one before?
Our signature facial. It is a full routine tailored to whatever your skin needs on the day, and it gives the facialist a full read on how your skin responds. Everything we recommend after your first visit is shaped by what we see during this session.
Should I wear makeup after my facial?
You can, but most clients prefer to let the skin breathe for the rest of the day. If you have something on afterwards, a light tinted SPF and a soft lip is plenty. We will never push product onto skin that is still reactive from a treatment.
How soon after a facial can I go in the sun?
Strong, direct sun is best avoided for 48 hours, particularly after any treatment involving acids, extractions or brightening products. Wear a broad-spectrum SPF daily whatever the treatment. Dubai sun is stronger than most visitors realise, and post-facial skin is more reactive than usual.
Are your products suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes. We stock a considered, professional-grade range with options for every skin type, including reactive and post-aesthetic-treatment skin. Your facialist will patch-test new ingredients if you have any history of sensitivity, and we will always adjust the products on the day if your skin is behaving differently than usual.
